Hey guys, my name is Seb. I am an automotive photographer that is based in Bedfordshire, goes to London most weekends to meet his mates and take pictures of cool cars by 'car spotting'. A little talk about where I am from etc.

I originally come from Romania which is in the eastern european side. I have moved over to the UK 6 almost 7 years ago. I have found my passion for cars at the end of 2023 and started doing photography with a little ixus canon at the start of 2024, progressing every month by finding cooler cars around my town and eventually starting to go London to see the cooler stuff.

I have had a few cool photoshoots like a LaFerrari Aperta and having very nice opportunities like seeing very exclusive cars which you won't probably see any on the road because the owners are scared of putting miles on them and going down in value unfortunately.

I really like Romania; was going at the end of this month (would have been my fourth time to the Transfagarasan and Transalpina) but had to cancel. The roads are nowhere near as good in the UK!!

Yes I can agree some roads in Romania are a lot better than some in the UK but if you try to go through the countryside (which I do not recommend if you have a really low car) then you will see the real Romanian roads. Full of potholes, some of them have not even an inch of asphalt on them. But yes, I fully agree with Jeremy Clarkson's statement as the best road in the world to drive your car on because of the views, the turns and everything is has to offer in my opinion. Unfortunately, even though I am from that country and not to long ago I just came back from the capital (Bucharest), I still haven't been at the Transalpina or the Transfagarasan just because of a 2 hour deroute unfortunately, but hopefully in the next upcoming years when I eventually will get a car and make a road-trip, I will hopefully go there and experience it all for myself.

Theres one road for you just to give you an example of how bad the roads can get into, some are even worse by not being equally elevated or being very big rocks which can impact anything you have on your car like low splitters or canards.

The start of the Transalpina (northern end) has sections like that, even when I was last there in 2022. However, they were also putting new asphalt down in sections further along and did some other parts around 2015 so it's not too bad. The A1 motorway is brand new as well so most of what I drive there is good.

As you say, I do suspect that there are a lot of neglected parts in smaller villages and out of the popular roads, though ...

I had the best drive of my life on the TA in 2022 as, due to the road being partially closed, there was virtually no traffic so I could drive it all by myself ...!

Yes, the A1 motorway is brand new even though we did have a few incidents where there were legit holes in the asphalt or had car parts from previous accidents because of people going like 250km/h

I bet that was fun going on the TA all by yourself with no traffic in your car. Hopefully this kind of luck finds me when I go too haha!
