Lone Survivor

The events are true, but sadly the truth is much sadder.

After Massoud was killed just before 9/11 there was a power vacuum, Hekmatar was the natural choice to change Massouds forces who were fighting the Taliban into fighting the US. Hekmatar took partial control and was a proxy and unknowing CIA asset through re-backed intelligence, Hekmatar had support, high in that support was Ahmed Shah (target in the film) he was not a CIA asset and was causing 'their' man problems as he too was more aligned to Massouds anti-Taliban stance, that was not what the CIA wanted so they had to eliminate Ahmed Shah. So these guys were killed and wounded trying to kill a man that would have changed the target from US forces to the Taliban.

Afghanistan has never invaded any country, it has no connection no matter how tenuous you accept to the events of 9/11 (the 'reason' the US were there) and almost all the fighters prior to invasion were fighting the Taliban rather than members of it.

Lions are still led by donkeys, 100 years after WW1.

very important strategically to control corridor to Asia and the huge oil coal and mineral wealth that there is in Asia

Asia has very little resource.

But you are right this war too was and is about a pipeline, just as is the whole ISAlqaeda masquerade.

The Kurds have realised the ISAlqaeda is there to secure the line from Qatar so that Assad doesn't have a hand on the tap as he's in cohorts with Putin.

Similar applies to Afghanistan, the pipeline will go right through that Country and the US wants to have a puppet in place, but the reasons are more convoluted than the ISAlqaeda war.

At the moment Turkmenistan can only send gas north to Europe and it has to go through 'Russia' and Russia has tied up the area totally for decades to come.

So the US wants to get the pipeline to the South to India which is an emerging market and they want to have those contracted transmission charges in their hands and a hand on the tap.

Putin wants to send it to China so as to hold them off from their ideas of invading Russia from their Northern borders, thereby holding them in check.
