I think for the best bang for your buck in terms of fun and capability imo a 997.1 GT3 is hard to beat. I really don't feel it is that much inferior to a .2 and with some mild modifications and upgrades you can make it perform 90% of a 997.2 RS but for about 50% of the money.....

Actually this ^. I know i said 7.2gt3 just a page or two ago but the above makes a lot of sense. I like the 7.2 more personally but once you factor cost in the 7.1 is very hard to beat. I'd not personally consider the 7.1rs at current prices as it's practically the same car as the gt3 at not far from twice the cost and as a single car you can feel able to mod/rag/track as you want, the additional cost of the rs, gen1 or 2 is simply going to be a drag on it's usage. Plus I think i like the narrow body look more for the gt3 over the rs tbh...
