Three dead including two fire fighters.

RIP

Mate of mine is a fire fighter in the area, was an explosion, assumed welding gas at the moment, the two other firefighters are pretty bad too. Tragic

I think it’s the storage building, imagine there’ll be some cool stuff gone up.

It was the Brooklands Museum building I believe, not the Historit building, just the one hangar went up. Its just a few miles away from me.

1st engine arrived promptly.
A couple of cars on fire and roof becoming engulfed .
Lots of smoke .
Intense heat .
Hose deployed on a tripod towards the cars.
Part of the wall suddenly collapsed trapping 5 .
2 dragged clear from the debris ,with a hook and rope.
Unfortunately 3 perished .

Hi there,

Such a tragedy, I was at the site just a few weeks ago for the Sunday Scramble.

It was Hangar 79 which was not used by any external businesses I don't believe and was just general storage for the Bicester Heritage site. Last March I had a tour of the site with a Bicester volunteer and he took us into Hangar 79 which is not usually open to the public on event days. It was largely empty apart from a few site vehicles and Audrey the classic mobile cinema.

I saw Audrey a couple of weeks ago at the Donington Historic Festival and according to their social media account today it seems Audrey was back home in Hangar 79 and has been lost in the fire.

Of course the loss of this classic vehicle is nothing compared to the pain the familes of the fire fighters and the member of the public that sadly lost their lives are going through. RIP to all involved.
