Bille in 918 sets Lap Record on Sprint Course

Just got back form a 1/2 day Event at Curbrough Sprint Course

Took the TTS and 918, best I could do in the Turbo S was 1.22.1. Managed to hook up a fast lap in the 918, 1.19.1, I am told this is over 0.5 secs faster than the lap record for a production car that is held by a Karting Champ in a R500 Duratec on Avon ZRs, see below, more pics from today later..

And Daniel was in the lightest clothing he could find without resorting to the wearing of a bikini ! He could have left the watch off though. that would be worth a few milliseconds :)

Well done David. I had hoped the YouTube was of you in the 918 though.

Don't get me wrong the event of driving a 918 would be great but I think I would have preferred to have been in the challenging analogue machine. Of course then a drive home in the 918.

wait until I get my 675 and we are on the mac days next year....

No cone this time, just managed to hook up a fast lap......
 
How much is it to rent the place for half a day? Any idea?

I did have an interest in acquiring the place earlier in the year, but could not agree, going to meet again soon on this...

today was 30.00 including fish and Chips......

to be honest I had no I idea that a fast lap was on the cards, the Turbo S was just drifting away...you get one go on Pzeros,I took a few out with the roof of just showing around, then had a look at the times, put the roofs back on, dialled the tyres down thought about the apexs and just tried to be smooth....

Think that supercar stuff is from July.....The next event is Oct, I will post up on here the dates, if any one would like to attend......

The list of cars made me laugh, turning up in a 918 against Midget/Escort is the equivalent of 'taking a nuclear weapon to a knife fight'. I bet there were a few surprised faces.

that's an understatement, lol.......but some times its good to give a bit back....easy to forget how lucky we are......must have done over 15 passenger laps.....

Having said that the R500s do look very fast round there......

Good on you mate, I saw a few photos on fb from people saying they'd been out for a ride and it sounded like they loved it
 
No idea how a 918 can beat an R500 on a sprint track, I would love a go in the Caterham against you ;).
Look forward to the next one, would consider bringing my RS, love sprint tracks .

its actually a very difficult course to hook up a fast lap, some very late apexs if you look at the R500 vid....
did not expect the 918 to set this time round a sprint track.....it seemed to change direction just like the TTS in the twisty bits...
 
Well done it doesn't look totally dry either
 
Fair play & well done beating an R500 around a little circuit like that!
