Thanks B.

They all laughed and said I was wasting my time, 918 was to big to get round the twisty bits....etc..lol...walked the course afterwards think I have found another 2 secs, going back next week to try, will take GO-PRO...and my friend has a drone cam..

Got some interesting Tyre pressure info from the LMP1 lot at Goodwood. Big improvement in grip, does not slide around so much when hot.....

Yes a mighty car , then creep home roof off , classical music pouring out of the awesome burmester system like molten gold , What a car , what a fucking car , so many dimensions to its brilliance

I have not driven mine in 9 days, it will be 10 days tomorrow :(
Still I am making it up to her by taking it to MSO on sat to show how much better she looks by comparison :(rofl):

Mate,
I was with the McLaren GT Race lot on track all last weekend, brilliant time.......don't think some of the Mac lot have seen one before, the build quality took their breath away.....you would think a UFO has parked up.

Are you coming to the Ball on the 4th of Dec? they are launching a couple of new cars, if you are coming let me know and I will make sure we are on the same table.

the best part for me is the way in which the reg-gen and e-power......just works...even more so when you take into account the probs F1 teams have with re-gen, let alone the P1 and Lafa......

Are those lower pressures than the 'performance" setting?

Hi Mark,
Not sure what the performance setting's are, for road I run 38 rear 36 front when cold, after about 20 mins they come up about 2lb above this.

On track in my experience they heat up very quick, then they just go off and the car just starts moving around...the rears on the 918 are not the same as the ones on the RS, the bands are different...dial them down to 35 rear 33 front, but you have to let them get hot 1st, they may take a coupe of dial downs before they sit at this, once they do you will find the grip is like its on rails.......

D - that sounds about right, as per Porsche guidance. Car comes (or mine did) set at 40psi/2.8 bar all round which lets you do max speed. (We hit 192mph, 1m 14s after leaving factory gate...).

For track, (speeds up to 165mph), they suggest perormance settings as 30psi front, 33 rear. (All these temps are "cold", 20C ambient). You can switch the TPMS settings easily via menu to "performance" when you adjust pressures. I leave mine on that now, as struggling to get above 165 on UK roads...

I briefly got a max speed warning on straights at Spa and Silverstone, when on performance settings.

30/33 cold won't be far away from your 33/35 hot.

Hi M,
I know that it all depends on the circuit etc. But on the short twisty sprint track the tyres became very hot very quickly, Whilst I was running the above temps when I set the time, massive improvement on grip on the back end.

The following morning when re-setting for road use the cold pressures were 24psi front 27 rear,
