How terrible; so sorry to read of the loss of your mum.

Joel

Very tragic, I am very sorry for your and your families loss.

Sorry for your loss, certainly has made me think twice about buying a small car for the missus.

Very sorry for those that have lost parents on this thread......

Condolences to you and your family. I guess we feel it will never happen to us, sadly not always the case.

Tragic accidents. Does make one think about what is a reasonable size of car to drive these dayswhen so many out there are SUVs and large commercial vehicles.

Sorry for your loss Stu but thank you for posting this, it really is sobering especially with the NCAP rating!

had a horrible feeling there was something more to that story. 🙁

Sorry for your loss MV. Cant imagine the pain you are going through but thank you for sharing and a note to us all.

Very sad for your loss. Sorry to hear it. However there is always the "what ifs'" that can plague us for a long time, however I don't think there is any point in trying to rewind things in your head about what could of been different. Nor can you blame things in terms of if she had a bigger car etc. Diana was in a huge Merc when she unfortunately died.

Really sorry to hear of your loss. Terrible thing to endure.

But feel no guilt. You have nothing to feel guilty for - the event and outcome were totally out of your control.

Would agree, there are infinite variables in these situations - no guarantee a bigger car would have been better, nor necessarily a smaller one worse.

Very sorry to hear that Stuart. Thoughts with you and your family.

OH my god.. so sorry to read this.. sorry for your loss!

I have a horrible image printed in my mind of a Range Rover Sport colliding with a smaller car (think it was a golf), the RRS was being driven by a joyrider.. literally just the front bumper fell off the RRS, but the other car was unrecognisable.. its one of the main reasons, I am finding hard to replace my RRS with anything else!

I'm so sorry for your loss.

The reason the 108 (I cant find a 109 on Peugeot or EURONCAP) looks destroyed is due to the way it is designed to dissipate energy. This isn't just a small car design but used throughout the automotive industry. A bigger car doesn't always mean a safer car. Sadly EURONCAP only do slow speed tests (64kph) I expect that Audi was travelling much faster. I hope he gets all he deserves!

That said I feel your grief and none of the above is relevant to the loss of your mom. My deepest heartfelt sympathies to you and your family.

If it helps anyone here you can search for your NCAP rating here https://www.euroncap.com/en Remember these tests are only carried out at a MAXIMUM of 64KPH!!!! Stars are great and all but what really is the point if most of us are travelling much faster than this!!!

Terrible to read this MV - Condolences on your very sad loss. And you really can't blame yourself in any way at all.
Stay strong
